A charming apartment in a residence is Casa Regina (60 m2). The first floor, has large French windows that open to a splendid 16 m2 terrace, that has a 180 degree view of lake Como. It is situated in a quiet area. However, 2 minutes of walking will take you to the main road and water side. It is only 10 minutes to the town of Menaggio. The residence is newly built and Casa Regina is very well furnished in a modern way. The living area consists of a sitting and dining area, sat. TV, HiFi, open and fully equipped kitchen. The bathroom has shower and washing machine. Private garage, two mountain bikes are at your disposal, speedboat with skipper can be hired from us against payment. We would be pleased to take you waterskiing and a panoramic tour of the lake. |

The Lombardy/Lake Como Area |

Menaggio is on Lake Como in Lombardy halfway on the north-west shore, 35 km from Como and 25 km from Lugano. It is 75 km to Milan Climate: Being on the south side of the alps, we are sheltered from cold winds from northern Europe. We have very pleasant temperatures and climate. Spring time starts in April and the warmest month is usually July ( 30 degrees C). The winter temperatures run 0-10 degrees C, but bright and sunny. We occasionally get rain, and it may snow once or twice. The surrounding mountain tops remain snow capped. We ski in St. Moritz, Madesimo, Gotthard or San Bernardino mountains which are 90 minutes by car. Lake Como was already known to the Romans ( Roman churches and archeological sites), from the 12th century. From the 18th century wealthy families from Milan built their summer homes, some of which can be visited (Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo, Villa Balbianello in Lenno, and Villa Melzi in Bellagio) Como is the capital of this region; it is known for its silk industry. Around the lake we have mountains up to 2500 m, with lots of hiking trails, wonderful views, and small hamlets to discover, most of which you reach by car. A day trip to the Alps, St Moritz is also wonderful in the summer. |

Menaggio area |

Menaggio is a lively little town with a weekly market where the locals from the surrounding mountain villages meet for a chat and bring their goat cheeses to sell. Menaggio has cosy piazza’s, narrow streets with trendy shops, some very good restaurants and pizzeria’s. A stroll on the boulevard along the waterfront in the afternoon and evening is a must. On higher ground, is the oldest golf course of Italy with a very tricky green and renowed restaurant where is seems the beautiful and famous meet. Film stars and football players have discovered Lake Como. In Menaggio you catch the ferry and cross the lake to Bellagio or Verenna, or you take a full day trip all over the lake by the tour boat, stopping wherever you wish. |

How to get there |

Fly to Milan: You can fly into either Linate or Malpensa airports, or Bergamo budget airport. Mennagio you reach in 60 to 90 minutes by car. Public transportation from the airports to Como are available. (both train and bus) By road through Switzerland: Gotthard tunnel, get off at Lugano, follow to Italian border, Porlezza then Menaggio. By road from South Italy: Milan, autostrada to Como, exit Como Nord, follow to Menaggio. |
