Home Description

The house is in a space leading to the lake of Como. The grounds are the property of the house and go directly from the house to the beach front. The premises have been completely reconstructed on the original “rustico”. It has a terrace looking towards the lake, a portico with outside grill for alfresco dining. The premises are on two floors; the ground floor consists of a double bedroom with complete bathroom, while the first floor consists of a live-in kitchen cum dining room and contains a pull-out sofa that sleeps two.

The Lombardy Region

The house is on lake Como which is in the province of Lombardy, near the Swiss border, north of Milan. Lake Como is 50 km long and is one of the most beautiful in Europe and is situated at the base of the Alps. The shores of Lake Como alternate between picturesque villages leaning out on the water, sandy or small rocky beaches, pleasure harbors and water sport areas for windsurfing, sailing and water skiing.

Cremia area

The village of Cremia is divided in two. The hillside part is perched on the side of the “Bregnano” mountain while the other smaller part is on the lake front. The Frazione San Vito contains a distinctive church dating from the 1400’s with two bell towers and is often seen in American Express billboard ads. The hamlet also contains a restaurant, pizzeria and small hotel, all withing a five minute walk from the house. Food stores are in Pianello del Lario (next village going north) or further in Dongo (10 minute car drive) or going south in Menaggio (also 10 minutes) Menaggio is a lively little town with narrow streets, good shops, restaurants etc. On higher grounds overlooking Menaggio and the lake is the oldest golf course in Italy. Bellagio (Villa Melzi), Tramezzo (Villa Carlotta), Lugano (40 km), Como town 40 Km, Milan 80 km and wonderful mountains in the nearby Swiss Alps in St. Moritz (90 km).
