Home Description

Villetta Maria is a most charming rural building with a terrific view over Lake Como. It was completely rebuilt some years ago an has a lot of outdoor spaces such as a garden with dining area, a barbecue which at the same time is a pizza and bread oven! A patio for your breakfast outside the dining room and the master bedroom has a very nice little terrace too. From every angle that splendid view!

The Lombardy Region

Villetta Maria is on lake Como in the region of Lombardy, near the swiss border and north of Milan. Villetta Maria overlooks the village of Rezzonico, where you find a small supermarket, restaurant and pizzeria. The house is situated on the "Antica Regina" a path-road constructed by the romans. This easy going path winds through the woods and pastures, passing waterfalls and watchtowers. After Villetta Maria it becomes a foot path.

Rezzonico area

The nearest little town is Menaggio ( 8km) along the lake, it has narrow streets, good shops, restaurants. The long boulevard goes from the harbour to the "lido" with swimming pool, playground for children and minigolf.The mountains around lake Como has lots of hiking tracks, the golf course of Menaggio is the oldest of Italy! Lugano ( 35 km), Como ( 35 km) Milan ( 80 km). St. Moritz ( 90 km).

How to get there

From airport Milan or Bergamo by car or train to Como. From Como by bus or by car. Driving from Switzerland , Gotthard tunnel, Lugano, Menaggio, Rezzonico.

On the ground floor a living room with wood burning fireplace which helps to heat the whole house. It has a sofabed ( for one small child), dining area, fully equipped open kitchen with fridge and microwave. An open staircase takes you to the first floor where the double bedroom is and the bathroom with shower. Overlooking the bedroom is an open plan bed platform with two single beds, which you reach by a steep stair. There is no central heating, but the house has the wood buring fireplace and auxiliary electric heaters.
