Tranquil Mountain Hideaway

2 Bedrooms, Sleeps 4 (up to 8 extended), Garden, Swimming Pool, Tennis Court

The villettas are situated in the quaint village of Cardano. The cobbled streets and chiming of the church bells provide a tranquil Italian village atmosphere, whilst being only a short drive (5 mins) from Menaggio on the western shore of Lake Como. Upon arrival you will be greeted by Betsy, the docile schnauzer and Ann the owner of the villa.

We also have another property called Villetta La Ghiro that sleeps two people. A charming gate house on the same estate.

Villetta La Vigna is a separate wing of the main villa with it’s own access from the front courtyard via a small flight of stairs. The villetta sleeps 4-5 (up to 8 if extra rooms are required) people. The main bedroom has twin (or double) beds with a balcony over the courtyard. The second bedroom has twin beds and space for an additional cot, and is accessed via the main bedroom. Each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom, one with shower over bath. Both have the usual amenities including a bidet. The main bathroom also has a washing machine. The living area is cosy with sofa and chairs around the fireplace, a dining room table and a television with SKY available. The small kitchenette adjoins the living room and has a fridge, gas hobs, combi oven and dishwasher. There is parking space available in the main courtyard. The views from the villa are over the courtyard and to the mountains. The villa gardens are for the enjoyment of the guests. The large gardens are very private and quiet and include a 6x12m swimming pool (June – Sep), and at the far end of the garden a tennis court. Alternatively guests may wish to relax in the sunshine or in one of the many shady spots.

Local Activities:

There are numerous local activities in the area such as walking, biking, riding and water sports on the lake. The villa is above the Val Senagra, a beautiful mountain torrent, a few minutes walk from the house..

For golf enthusiasts there is an excellent 18 hole golf course 5 mins away. The course is considered one of the most scenic in Europe and members of any golf club are welcome upon payment of a green fee. The green fee is approx 50-65 Euros and a collective book of ten brings the price down to approx 45 Euros per round.

Within walking distance are the local shops including a small general supermarket, bakery, bar and restaurant. There are many restaurants in the area and a large supermarket 7 mins drive towards Porlezza.

There are many cities worth visiting in the surrounding area including: Como 45 mins, Lugano 30 mins and St Moritz 2 hours.

Rental Rates:

High Season Rate: From €2064 per week
Low Season Rate: From €1032 per week

Rental Notes:

Bookings are for one week minimum, from Saturday to Saturday.

Refundable damage deposit of €243 Cleaning charge €78

Deposit of half the rental to confirm booking and remainder to be paid one month before arrival (unless by prior arrangement).

Please note that the entrance to the villa is through a narrow gap - retractable wing mirrors are a big help!
