The apartment ( 120 m2) is on the first floor of a small apartment house, to reach the house you follow a 150 m long footpath going up slowly to the house, so wear comfortable shoes!. The apartment is new and furnished in a very accurate and modern way. It has a spacious living room with large terrace, from where a beautiful view over the lake, open kitchen with i.e. dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. 3 double bedrooms, one with 120 cm wide bed, bathroom with shower. The apartment is built against the hill and overlooks the lake. At 150 m is a bus stop, a boat stop, restaurants. At 800 m the center of Carate with small grocery store, post office and bank. Cernobbio at 3 km, Como at 9km for supermarkets. |

The apartment is on Lake Como. Lake Como is in the north of Italy near the Swiss border and at 60 km from Milan . It is surrounded by 1000 m- high mountains and a number of valleys take you into the hills where there are many hiking tracks. The golf course of Menaggio is the oldest in Italy and is famous for the views over the lake as it is situated on higher grounds. The climate is very pleasant and temperate in the summer and cool but nearly no rain in the winter. The lake is 50 km long and divides itself in two branches at Bellagio. Villages like Varenna, Menaggio, Tremezzo have attracted over the last two centuries people from all over Europe but also rich people from Milan built here their summer villa's to escape the heat of the Po valley . Many of these villa's and their parks are now open to public. Boats cris cross the lake. In winter the mountains have snow covered tops and at one hour's distance we have ski resorts. Carate Urio is conveniently near to Como-town ( 9 km) , Lugano ( 25 km), Milan ( 60km ) which can be reached by bus or train, if you wish to leave your car at home. |

Carate Urio is a small village on the border of the lake. It is built against the slopes and you will be astonished to discover the numerous footpaths through the village. It has a few restaurants , small grocery store but for extensive shopping you depend on Cernobbio ( 3 km), or Como. |

From Milan airports follow autoroute towards Como, exit Como North, Cernobbio after 4 km Carate or by car from Gotthard tunnel Switzerland, Italian border, Cernobbio, Carate Urio. |
