Home Description

Casa Preé is built on the remains of a rural building and has been completely renovated. The house has a lot of enjoyable outdoor space, such as a roof top terrace, from which you can enjoy an overwhelming view of Lake Como and the surrounding mountains, including the Alps with their snow covered peaks, the last far into spring.

A narrow up going path – just wide enough for a normal car, allows you to reach the house and park in front. The path becomes a foot path after some 50 m.

The living space is divided over three floors. The living room has a gas fireplace. There is a fully equipped kitchen with dining table. Two double bedrooms, one bathroom and one shower room. A loft with an open bed platform for two, which opens to the terrace. There is a small garden for outside dining.

The Lombardy/Lake Como Area

Lombardy’s capital is Milan (60 km) which is worth spending a day for both the historical buildings and the shopping. Also, to enjoy in Milan are the weekly markets. It is known for it’s trade fairs.

Como is 40 km from Milan, and Rezzonico another 25 km along the northwest coast of the lake from Como.

It is near the Swiss border (visit Lugano and also the high mountain resorts such as St. Moritz, Madesimo, Bormio with Roman thermal baths).

Rezzonico area

Rezzonico has a small supermarket, a pizzeria and one or two restaurants. For extensive shopping you must depend on Menaggio, Dongo, or Como.

Rezzonico is a very picturesque village built on an peninsula with a castle dominating the area. Secluded beaches (gravel-rocky) make Rezzonico a very attractive village for swimming, sailing and wind surfing. Lake Como is surrounded by 1000 m high mountains, good for hiking and mountain biking. For those of you who enjoy incredible views, and photography the hiking around Lake Como is some of the best in Europe.

How to get there

From Milan airports of Linate and Malpensa, by car, take the autostrada, exit Como-Nord, follow the signs to Menaggio.

From Switzerland by car – Gotthard tunnel or San Bernardino tunnel, autostrada, exit Lugano, follow to the Italian border, Porlezza, Menaggio.

From East Switzerland by car: Splugen pass, Chiavenna, follow signs for Como.

Budge airport Bergamo: follow Lecco, Colico, take the ferry at Varenna to Menaggio.
