Home Description

Casa Galbiga is a classic Lake Como villa, it goes back to the 18th century when it was a "coach stop" , afterwards it was bought by the family and went through modernization. The Casa offers 3 lovely modern - but also furnished with family antiques - apartments each on one floor.

Please ask for a detailed description of the apartments, each sleeps 4 in two double rooms. the house is surrounded by a furnished garden with barbecue area , table tennis , and although the villa is on the main road it has a secluded charm as it lays sheltered in the garden on higher grounds.

We offer two motorboats for rent which are moored in front of the villa.  Also we have secure parking for motorbikes.

The Lombardy Region

Lake Como has a temperate climate as it is sheltered from northern winds by the alps. This makes is very pleasant in high summer, but also in winter when we have most of the time blue skies . Not being far from the high alps, guests like to visit Lake Como as they can combine days in the mountains for skiing and days of relax on the lake or visits to Milan, Lugano, and even Venice or Verona.

Como is already mentioned by the Romans and most villages are still connected by a " roman road" a footpath which runs along the lake and has been in most places restored. It passes through alps, meadows and forests, with beautiful views over lake and mountains.

Ossuccio area

Ossuccio is situated between Como and Menaggio on the north-west shore of lake como and in front of the only Island " Isola Comacino" which is worthwhile visiting for its archeological interest and famous restaurant. "Lucia" boats take you to the island. Ossuccio 's belltower is the most historical building of Lake Como, which you can find on every postcard. Ossuccio is a well kept village with lovely shores, a nice beach-sunbathing area and hills easy for walking or hiking up into the olive yards and to churches and sanctuaries.
